Is the free plan actually free — no credit card?
Yes. The free plan on Substack requires no payment information whatsoever. You sign up with an email address and start receiving the weekly newsletter immediately.
Can I cancel a paid plan at any time?
Yes. Cancel any time from your Substack account settings. You keep access until the end of your billing period. No cancellation fees.
What is the difference between monthly and annual?
Both plans include identical features. The annual plan is simply billed once per year at $80, saving you $16 compared to paying $8 each month for 12 months.
How are payments handled?
Payments are processed securely by Substack via Stripe. We never store or handle your payment information. You manage billing directly from your Substack account.
Can I get a refund?
We encourage using the free plan to evaluate the newsletter before upgrading. For billing concerns, contact
